As you progress through Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, you'll encounter Dryleaf Dane, an NPC who will provide you with the first set of Hand-to-Hand arts. These arts allow you to perform devastating unarmed attacks, giving you a new combat option in the game. One of the most useful arts you can obtain is Danes Footwork.
How to Unlock Danes Footwork
To unlock Danes Footwork, you must first defeat Dryleaf Dane in combat. Once defeated, you'll find the Dryleaf Arts lying on the ground next to the site of grace, along with Danes Hat and a message reading "Grow not." By reading the message, you'll unlock Danes Footwork, allowing you to perform quick and agile movements in combat.
